Reminders don't work in Outlook 2003

Hello,

I'm having problems with reminders not working for Tasks and
Appointments. I have scoured the groups, and the only suggestions are
to start Outlook with the command line switches /cleanreminders & /
resetfolders. Neither of these work. I've also repaired Outlook, but
that doesn't work either.

Any other suggestions.

I'm running Outlook 2003 sp2.0 and XP sp2.0

Just to be sure... the items in question are in the Calendar or Tasks
folders of your default message store (PST file where your mail ends up or
your Exchange mailbox)? Normally, without third-party tools, that's the
place where reminders are generated from.

I think I'm understanding you correctly to say that, Yes, I'm talking
about the Tasks and appointments. They are the default folders for
those items and my mail is sent to "Mailbox".

We use Exchange and nothing is abnormal as far as I know.

Another interesting note; another user here is using 2003, sp1.0 and
his reminders work fine. However, he doesn't show the Reminders folder
in his tree. My tree shows that folder (which is how I understand its
supposed to be), but nothing is in it.

Hmmmm, I don't have a reminders folder. Do you have any addins installed?

The folder Outlook uses for reminders isn't a real folder, it's a search
folder that's always invisible to the user and not in the folder list tree.
If there's a visible one there it's either something else or things are
seriously screwed up.

I do have some addins. I'm not sure which ones would affect it though.

Under the COM ADD-INS I have Outlook PCS 1.2. It is an add-in for
synchronizing contacts with my pocket PC from multiple folders.

The other addins are:
Symantic AntiVirus
Delegate Access
Deleted Item Recovery
Redemption Helper Outlook Extension
Exchange Extensions commands
Exchange Externsions property pages
Server Scripting (Un-checked)
Fax Server Extension (Un-checked)

I'm not sure how these all affect things, but I didn't add them in
myself. It could have been during setup here on our exchange server,
but otherwise, its basic.

As far as the Reminders folder goes, I can't delete it or anything.
I'm not sure how it got there or anything.

I finally got it to work! I uninstalled the PCS outlook addin; then I
was able to delete the Reminders folder. After I did that, the
reminders started working.

I was able to find a solution. I had an addin installed (under the COM
addins) called Outlook PCS. I uninstalled that, and then was able to
delete the Reminders folder. Before that, there was no option to
delete the folder. It's working fine now!!
