reminders not popping up

Problems identified so far:
- cannot search Contacts
- Reminders not popping up
- single case of email not searchable

Exhausted desktop remedies:
- Commands which reset and restore corrupt Outlook folders (outlook.exe
/cleanreminders, /clean freebusy, /resetfolders)
- replicated problem on different desktops with no network profiles loaded.
It is not profile-related.
- ran outlook Detect and Repair on multiple systems
- these problems move with the mailbox

Currently this is an Exchange 2000 Environment. If there is a problem with
Mail Store, what utilities can I run to fix these problems?
