"Reminders" not working

My 5 yr old XP crashed and I've just installed Office 2003 a new XPS Vista
64 bit laptop, and transferred the pst file to the new pc.

However now when I enter a new event in the calendar and save it with a set
reminder time, I get a message saying: "The reminder will not appear
because the item is not in your calendar or task folder."

In fact the item is in my calendar because I can see it there... just the
reminder doesn't work.

How do I fix this?

I copy/pasted it from the old hard drive to the new hard drive/pc. Then
reinstalled outlook 2003 in the new pc and had outlook point to that pst file.

In what folder did you put the PST and how did you configure Outlook to use
it?

Your question led me to look deeper and I *think* I found the problem.
It seems that I have a pst file in this folder:

personal folder
c:\users\myname\applicationdata\local\microsoft\outlook\outlook.pst And
under comments it says:mail delivery location.
I assume this is the pst file that Outlook set up when I reinstalled it on
Vista.

I also have 2 older pst files that I had copied from the old pc to the new
one:
personal folder c:\outlook files\outlook.pst
archive folder c:\outlook files\archive.pst

I'm pretty sure I have outlook reading all three of these files at the same
time, because they all appear on the left column under "all mail folders"
So now my original question changes to this:

How can I transfer all the data from the 2nd outlook pst file (the one I
copied from the old pc to the new one) into the one that outlook set up to
get the mail?

Open each folder in the second Outlook PST, select all the items with
Ctrl-A, then right-click and drag the selection to the folder where you want
it or click Edit>Copy to Folder, specifying the appropriate destination.
For the Calendar, you'll need to switch to a table view like By Category
before the Ctrl-A keypress will work.

I have about 100 folders.
Is it possible to just copy/paste the complete folder to the new pst?

Provided they are not the default folders, sure. If they are the default
folders, all you'll do is add a new folder of the same name, but with a
number behind it. For example, if you tried to copy a folder named
"Contacts" to the default folder set, it will get renamed to "Contacts1"

You have been a great help in consolidating the multiple pst files and now I
have one last question.
Under "all mail folders" in the window on the left side of the top level
mail page, when I click on 'personal folders' the "Outlook Today" appears
with an error popup that says:

Internet Explorer Script Error
An error has occurred on a script on this page.
line 291
char 1
error: access is denied
code 0
url: outlook://perswonal%20folders/
Do you want to continue running scripts on this page?

When I click "NO" outlook continues working fine... but have you any idea
how I can track down the cause?

Thank you for all your help.

Have you any advice on how to stop

IGNORE MY LAST QUESTION RE SCRIPT ERROR.
After closing/reopening Outlook it has not returned
But I want to take this opportunity to thank you again for giving me what I
needed to clean up the pst files.

Right-click on "Personal Folders" and choose Properties. Select the "Home
Page" tab. What is on that tab?

I responded to it prior to seeing this message, so you can ignore my
response.
But I want to take this opportunity to thank you again for giving me what
I
needed to clean up the pst files.

You're welcome.
