when my reminders pop up, they show either no content at all or they display the content field descriptor (Event name and time) in black text.

1) Create a new Identity in Entourage. Enter a reminder and test. Does it
work. If yes, it's your database. You will need to rebuild. How to rebuild:

<http://www.entourage.mvps.org/database/rebuild.html>

2) if no, then create a new User in System Preferences and do the same test.
If that works, it indicates a problem in your User's folder. Most likely a
corrupt preference.

3) If it doesn't work in a new User, then it's something to do with your
base OS file. I would download and run the Apple combo first. If that fails,
you might need to do an "Archive & Install".

Let me know what your tests show.

The database was corrupt. Rebuilding it did the trick. Thanks for your help
