reminders

I have a client who is running win 98 with office xp
its a fresh install of 98 with all windows updates and a fresh install
of office xp with all updates and her reminders NEVER pop up. all
settings such as show reminder and play sound are set and i have tried
the /cleanreminders switch to no avail.

can anyone please help !!!

no matter what i do i cant get a reminder to pop up be it for a
appointment or task or anything. they dont pop up late they just never
pop up.
