The techos have installed Remote access terminals in the branches. Each user
now accesses the same c: drive where the front end of my database is located.
The backend is located on q: drive. Each user is now opening the same copy of
the front end database. But only one user at a time now is able to access
the back end database. Any clues?

I assume you are refering to Terminal Services or a similare remote
desktop system?

Normally each user has a home directory (%USERPROFILE%). It is important
that you store the front-end in each users profile and not a common
shared one.

In the FE, go to Tools, Options and on the Advanced tab make sure that
Default open mode is set to Shared. That's the only thing I can think of
offhand.
