Remote Access

I am developing a system for a business that has a main office with 5 or 6
people, and a satellite office with 1 or 2 people. They would like to house
the system on a network at the main office, but be able to have the people in
the satellite office log onto the system either over the internet or through
a modem connection to a computer in the main office set up for that purpose.

Is this possible? What are the reasonable alternatives? Any help would be
appreciated?

A modem wouldn't be fast enough and could corrupt the database.

Check out Terminal Services or Citrix Server in google.
