Remote user support -- what works best?

I have exchange 2k and a user who is for the most part
working out of his house and using outlook xp as his
email client. He was using a pst but had some corruption
so we switched him to an ost. Are OSTs too slow for
pop3/smtp users? He is fussing about slowness. Does he
have to work offline to lose the sluggishness?

Have you considered setting his client to work offline
and send/receive every couple of minutes. At least this
way he will be working on the local file most of the time
but will still receive and send mails - thus having the
functionality of working online.

Regards

James
