I have noticed a feature/issue with Exchange (5.5, 2000,
or 2003) with Outlook clients (any version), that I was
hoping I had a work-around solution for.
Several users access Exchange data from Outlook 'remotely'
and by that, I mean, they never access the data live from
the server, only synchronized copies. However, when done
like this, they never propogate up to the server the
information in their Free/Busy data which causes an issue
for other Exchange users who try to schedule appointments.
This issue is immediately resolved when they connect to
the server live by 1) a Terminal server session and
a 'live' connection to the Exchange server, 2) another
user opening the profile for a 'remote' user 3) opening
their own profile in an 'online' mode.
Is there a workaround for this issue? Is there any way to
force an offline/synchronized client to update Free/Busy
Data? Accessing over Web Access does not resolve this
either.
Reply in the forum, or feel free to email me. Replace
the .net part of my email address to .com.
Thanks
