remote web slow

After installing FP 03 on a new machine, I created a new web and went to my
old web site, and clicked on synchronize, thinking that I could copy all my
web content onto the new machine and go from there. But the connection
suddenly became very slow, and even after reboot, and then removal and
reinstall that remote site is intolerably slow -- just on this machine. The
slow site is working fine with FP03 on my old machine. Other remote sites
are still fine on the new machine. What is happening, and how can I undo
whatever is messing up the process on the new machine? Any help/suggestions
greatly appreciated!

Why did you synchronize?
All you need to do is open your old online web/site in FP 2003 and publish it to whatever location you want
(1st time use Publish All, thereafter use Publish Changes)

I'm not sure what I was thinking -- synchronize sounded good?
So I know not to do that again, but how do I reverse whatever happened that
is causing the remote site to respond at 1kb/s or less?
