Scott

We installed Office 2003 Pro on Windows XP pc. However it left Photo
Editor. Can someone advise me how to uninstall it as it is not registered
in Add/Remove programs.

Thanks,

Scott

Hi Scott,

MS Office Photo Editor was an option for Office 97 but also in Office 2000 and XP/2002 series apps. See if you have any of those
program series still listed as installed in Add/Remove Programs in the Windows control panel. The MS Office Photo Editor isn't
listed as a separate application there.

Bob,

Photo Editor is a good utility but incompatible with Windows XP on some
computers. It is not registered in Add or Remove Programs in the Windows
control panel.

Bob,

Office 2003 has Picture Manager similar to Photo Editor. It is unnecessary
to keep Photo Editor.

Similar yes, but loses some editing features because it's a Manager.
Many folks are unhappy and "reinstall" Photo editor because of that.
Delete it if you want, but it is a really small file(PhotoEd.exe)

Hi Scott,

Did you check for the Office 97, 2000 XP/2002 series programs in Add/Remove Programs as previously suggested?

MS Office Photo Editor isn't going to be listed separately, it's a feature of the MS Office Suites, not a separately installed
Microsoft program. If you have any pre-Office 2003 series apps still listed check to see which one of those is preserving the
installation of MS Office Photo Editor.

Having problems with MS photo editor too. Whenever I try to open a graphic
it defaults to editor but always says file not recognized ...or file
extension not recognized. It been like this since installation ( MS Student
Teacher)- its never worked. So I go to picture it or Image Pro and open it
there (time consuming)!

I can do without it so how can I turn it off? Its to the point of just
being an annoyance. Or how do I get it to recognize everything I want to
open ...like a simple jpg, etc. ... and/or how do I set up another program
for opening images. Which is the easiest?
Thanks
