Remove attachments in Outlook 2007

I want to remove large attachments in Outlook 2007 after saving the file to
disk, but I need to keep the original e-mail. However the "Remove" feature on
right click is greyed out, so the attachment cannot be removed. Any
suggestions please.

Open the message first by double clicking on it and then remove the
attachment. Save when the message when prompted when closing it.

I have the same problem and what you suggest is not working. Any other ideas?

Nevermind I retried this suggestion and it worked. I would still like a way
to remove them from the view window instead of having to double-click.

When I right-click on the attachment, I don't have a Remove option at all. I
see the Copy, Open, Print and Save As options, with the Cut, Paste,
Hyperlink, Insert Caption, Borders & Shading and Picture options greyed out.

Suggestions?

Thanks!

Sometimes this works sometimes it does not. Is that because the first time I
opened the email it was NOT by double clicking on it? If so is there any way
to accomplish this process of removing the attachment but saving the base
message?

Don't hijack a thread, especially one that is over /*2 YEARS OLD*/. Start
your own NEW thread and give the details of YOUR setup and problem.

--- Posting Hints ---

ALWAYS REVIEW your message before submitting it. You want someone OTHER
than yourself to understand your post. Also remember that no one here is
looking over your shoulder to see at what you are pointing. If you don't
well explain your situation by providing the details that you already know,
don't expect others to know what is your situation. Explain YOUR computing
environment and just what actions you take to reproduce the problem.

Often you get just one chance per potential respondent to elicit a reply
from them. If they skip your post because you gave them nothing to go on
(no details, no versions, no OS, no context) then they will usually move on
to the next post and never return to yours.
