remove blue lines (BLOCKQUOTEs) from emails

I get forwarded emails all the time with vertical blue lines (BLOCKQUOTEs)
down the left side. I always pride myself on cleaning up the junk before
sending the good ones on. Is there an easy way of doing this or must I
recreate the message from scratch?

Convert the message to plain text to remove them.

In outlook 2007, Actions, Edit message, then options to change the format.
In older versions, Edit, Edit message, then format menu.

Converting to plain text format is just like starting over and I was trying
to get away from that. I know, I can always view the source code, copy it to
a text message and change the extension to .htm so I can edit it with an HTML
editor but that's a pain also.

You mean to tell me that once an email client sticks those blockquotes in a
message, there's no easy way to take them back out and clean-up the message?

I get all sorts of messages with several lines down the left side indenting
the text more with each one. I won't forward a message full of junk from the
previous recipients and find it very aggravating to clean up the blockquotes.
The other stuff isn't that bad but the blockquotes are too much.

I won't be following you advice to convert them to plain text so I can try
to recreate all the other formating that is lost when I do that.

If that's the best solution - no thanks.
