Remove Crop Marks

P

PatK

I am trying to remove the crop marks in the corners of my word doc pages. I
have tried the technique recommended in the article:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=839371

However, this has had no affect in resolving this problem, as it seems to
have had for most other folks with this problem. Any other ideas?

Thanks!

If what you are seeing isn't caused by an Asian language or by text
boundaries, I guess it could be an object (an autoshape or some other
kind of picture). On the Drawing toolbar, click the Select Objects
button (a white arrow pointing to north-west) and see if it allows you
to select anything. Try this with and without the header/footer area
activated. Delete anything that you find.

If the problem is with all new blank documents, and the above was
successfull, repeat the procedure in the Normal template (open it as a
document, or rename it and have Word recreate it for you; see
http://word.mvps.org/faqs/AppErrors/BlankDocNotBlank.htm).

Hey, Stefan...that was a good idea. I had not thought of that. It did not,
unfortunately, work. But I REALLY appreciate your giving it a shot. I have
not had any replies from anyone on this subject, so thank you very much for
taking the time to help me!

I'm afraid I'm out of ideas...

If everything else works correctly, I guess you will have to live with it
(even though it is annoying). :-(

Yeah...afraid it is looking that way. This weekend, I complete uninstalled,
and then reinstalled all of the Office 2003 suite, and I still have the
problem. I am guessing something is switched "on" in the registry somewhere,
that does not get cleared during the uninstall process. Lucky me!

ANyway....THANKS!!!

Actually, uninstalling and reinstalling seldom solves problems,
because most (if not all) registry entries remain intact.
