remove french related updates for "mandatory" US Office updates

Daniel

The French spelling and grammar checker should NOT be included in the
required Office updates for the US versions of Office. Maybe if I was
Canadian, eh? But this is the US and I take OFFENSE at the prospect of a
mandatory foreign language supoort - ESPECIALLY since it is something that
states that once installed, it cannot be removed! Now French, next Spanish,
followed by Yiddish, Russian, Ukrainian, Somalian, Tagalog, Chinese,
Japanese, Vietnamese, Burmese, Taiwainese, Saturnese, Venutian, Jovian, ....

Daniel,

The U.S. versions of MS Office 2003 include proofing tools
for the three most common North American languages
English, French and Spanish. They are part of the CD and
cannot be removed.

The updates on Office Update (http://officeupdate.microsoft.com)
keep your entire product current, not just a subset of installed
features. Office update patches do not have a separate uninstall
for specific patches.

If you prefer to not be offered a specific update you can use
Microsoft Update Service (http://update.microsoft.com) inplace
of Office update for your Windows and Office updates.

No wonder MS products are such "hogs"! I would submit that the vast majority
of users in the US do not use foreign languages. I know that while many are
multi-lingual, most of these only use a PC in one language. I support over
100 users for my employer and not one one of them is using multi-lingual
functions!

Bottom line - Why include barely-used function as a required component? It
makes so much more sense to set it up as an option.
