Remove gantt from custom view

R

Reuter

Using MSP2003/EPM
Trying to remove the gantt column from one of my custom views. I know you
can delete a column by highlighting the column and then deleting. The gantt
portion of this view will not allow this. Please let me know how to
eliminate the gantt bars located in the right pane of view.

You will need to recreate the View, but this is pretty simple stuff. Before
you recreate the View, delete the old View. Then do these steps:

1. Open any project.
2. Click View - More Views and then click the New button.
3. Select the Single view option and then click the OK button.
4. Give the new View a name.
5. Select the Task Sheet screen.
6. Select the Table, Filter, and Group used in the original View.
7. Select the "Show in menu" option, if desired.
8. Click OK and then click Apply to test the new View.

Notice that the Task Sheet screen does not include any Gantt Chart on the
right. After you confirm the new View works as desired, open the Enterprise
Global file and copy the new View from the project to the Enterprise Global.
Save and close the Enterprise Global file. Close the project without saving
it. Hope this helps.

Dale,
Thank you, sorry for this question but: how and where would I delete old
view after I created new view?

If you created it in the Enterprise Global file, open the Enterprise Global
for editing and click Tools - Organizer. You will find it in the list of
Views on the right side of the dialog. Select it and delete it. Then save
and close the Enterprise Global file, exit and relaunch Microsoft Project
Professional. If you created the View only in one project, open the project
and click Tools - Organizer and follow the same steps to delete it. Hope
this helps.

In the Tools>Organizer. Make sure you are selecting the right project in
the bottom of the form. If it is in the enterprise global, you will need to
check it out first before attempting to delete it from there.
