remove line breaks in word 2004

I've been using BBEdit or TextWrangler to remove the hard line breaks
in a document before opening the doc in Word. I want to eliminate this
step and use Word to remove the line breaks but I can't seem to find
any sort of command that will accomplish this. How do I remove hard
line breaks in Word 2004?

In Edit | Replace, if you click on the arrow in the bottom left to expand
the dialog, you will see a Special menu that you can use to enter the code
for "manual line breaks" into the Find box, then Replace it with nothing.

(Depending on your doc, you may need to replace with a space, and you might
need to Find paragraph marks rather than hard line breaks. Click ¶ on the
standard toolbar to see whether Word interprets the breaks as a paragraph
(grey ¶) or a line break (left-pointing arrow with a turn in stem))

You can type the code in, once you memorize it, or you could record a macro
of the F&R to make this a one-click function, if you do it repeatedly.

And you'll notice that the Special menu offers many options other than just
line breaks.

Thank you! That's what I needed. Not as simple as BBEdit's menu
selection but it will do the job.
