Remove note information management functions

Hello,

Is there a way to use OneNote without all of the navigation features (e.g.,
folders, sections, etc.)? I simply want to be able to open .one files from
wherever they are located and not be bogged down with a mess of folders and
sections. In other words, I just want OneNote to use files the normal way
like Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.

I already use a more complete, robust, and streamlined information manager
(Ultra Recall) and OneNote's management features just get in the way.

Thanks,
Timothy

Hi Timothy,

I feel the same way.
Why not just have .one files inside UltraRecall and then use OneNote
just to edit the OneNote files ?

One interesting lesson about OneNote is to go through the entire
OneNote files and close them all (File Menu ... Close). Just keep
repeating that until the entire "Drop Down" menu is empty.

Then you can feel OneNote as just a "Viewer". Then Close the .one file
(File ... Close) and the document list will be empty again. :)

Subject: Viewing OneNote as a new type of File Format - NOT a program.

I see the power of OneNote is the .one files themselves - NOT OneNote's

ability to organize them. Most of EN's weaknesses to me seem to be
related to it's lack of any PIM needs. All the strengths (easy inking
and Text on the same page, wonderfully smooth easy to create INK,
etc..) are in the .one file themselves.

This is the reverse in GoBinder and EverNote. Those programs do not
allow "individual files".

Just a thought.
