Remove PDF Toolbar

M

Mickey

I have tried unsuccessfully to delete the PDF toolbar in Word 2000. I
deleted it on my old laptop but I recently received a new laptop and can not
get rid of it.
Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Mickey

Mickey:

How the toolbar is implemented depends on the verision of Acrobat you've
installed.

Up to V6, the toolbar is created by an add-in in your Startup folder. Use
Tools > Options > File Locations to determine the path of your startup
folder. In that folder, look for PDFMaker.dot. You could delete that file.

Rather than deleting it, you could also move it to a subfolder in your
Startup folder named, say, Hidden. Files in this subfolder won't
automatically open when you start Word, but you can move them back up into
the Startup folder (or open them via Tools > Templates and Add-ins) if you
need them.

For later versions of Acrobat, you'll have to hope for help from someone
else, or search the Adobe support pages:
