Remove "Recovered Personal Folders"

I have about 8 instances of "Recovered Personal Folders" in my Outlook and i
cannot remove them. when i right click and choose close, it says "the
operation failed, the object cannot be found". There is nothing in them but
a deleted items box and a search folders. i have run scanpst before on
others' pst files across the network, these are just cluttering up my view.
How can i remove them.

With OL closed, check via Mail Applet in the control panel

PS Using a pst over a network is not supported by MS as it can lead to
corruption
