remove rehearsal timings

Jeff

I am using PowerPoint 2002 and recently discovered the tool for rehearsing
timings. After such a rehearsal I saved the timings to the PowerPoint file
on exiting.

I have now discovered that when I am in slideshow mode, these rehearsal
timings take on a life of their own. If I do not click the mouse, after a
certain time, they seem to "click it for me" in the sense that they move the
animation along on its own without my asking to move to the next animation.

How do I get rid of this unwanted automatic timing of the slides in my
presentation!

Thanks

Jeff

Open your presentation
Go to slide sorter view
Open your task bar on the right
Go to Slide Transitions
at the bottom you have your options
select a slide (highlight)
uncheck automatically after
hit apply to all slides
That should do it
Hope this helps!!!

Jeff,
To add to what John said, if you want to keep the timings for future use
just go to Slide show - setup show - in the next slide section choose the
radio button to move by click. Any time you need the timings again it will
suffice to check the other radio button again.

Thank you both. You saved my skin. I've used PP for years but had never
used the timing tool before and when I looked for how to disable it in Help,
I could find nothing. So I was very worried as the presentation date for
this lecture is coming up soon and I only discovered the problem by chance
in doing some last minute changes.

Thanks.
