Remove single repeating characters

I am redoing an ancient text file that has every line ending in an 'enter'
key stroke. Is there a shortcut to pick this character and delete every
occurrence of it? Also, the lines are spaced with blank lines between them.
Apparently this was done on an old Amiga computer word processing program.
