Remove Table Leave Data

I have a very poorly formatted document and I would like to remove all
the data from the table. Is this possible without cutting and pasting
each cell? Thanks in advance.

Assuming you're using Word 2000, try using the
Table|Convert|Table to Text approach via the menus. The
same facility exists in other versions, though the path
through the menus to the Table to Text option may differ.

Select the entire table and press the Delete key. If the results are
not what you had in mind, press the Undo button.

This will do the opposite of what he wants (remove the data but leave the
table structure).

I don't know what the OP wants, I was just trying to do what he said.
What the OP said was "I would like to remove all the data from the
table." I suppose that this could be considered as ambiguous.
Selecting the entire table and pressing the delete key will remove
(delete) the data and leave the table, which was how I read it.
