Removed account still being received

I created two email accounts so that I could process them in Outlook 2007. I
removed a gmail account from Outlook and log into the gmail account outside
Outlook. I continue to receive gmail incoming into Outlook although I think
I have removed it under Tools/accounts as well as in Mail in the control
panel. Any ideas?

Well if you are still receiving mail from that account in Outlook then it's
reasonably certain that you DIDN'T remove the account.....

In addition to what Gordon said, it might also be that you have another
account whose address is an alias of the one you deleted. That will cause
you to receive the original account's mail as well.

Was the gmail account set up as an IMAP account or a POP account?
