Any help would be appreciated.
I used Add/Remove programs and removed BCM completely. Stupid mistake in
trying to get the software loaded to enable synching with smartphone. I can
see the MSSmallBusiness.mdf file in the right place in my system (running
XP). It's 90MB.
I purchased a new copy of Outlook with BCM and installed the BCM part.
Outlook now has BCM, but when I go to Create New Database or Select Existing
Database, it doesn't see my old DB (where all the data is!)
I have tried multiple fixes including checking to see if SQL is started (it
is), checking the names of who has rights to access, etc. Seem to be right to
me, though I'm just a lowly salesman - not a sysadmin.
In Explorer, I'm not able to copy the .mdf file - I get an Access Denied or
Windows Encountered a Problem error. I can't open the .mdf file in Word or
Excel.
Is there a way to open that .mdf file in another program, get it into Excel
somehow, then import the data into a new BCM database? Or does anyone have
any suggestions about making BCM recognize the old DB?
Thanks,
Paul Kelly
