Removed HP Share to Web--stil problem

I have read the messages and the Microsoft release regarding the security
update. I removed my HP Share to Web program. Don't have the other offender.
But still EVERY file in Docouments and Settings is marked Read Only and won't
let me change the attribute. Since I removed the Share to Web program, am I
facing a different problem that causes the Read Only attribute?

Try uninstalling the security update if the registry fix didn't help.

I don't know that this problem is manifested in files becoming read-only.
Were these files copied from a CD?

No, the files are the same that have always been on my computer and worked
fine until yesterday. And as I said, it has affected ALL the files in
Documents and Settings. I would like to remove the security fix, 908531, and
located a file called $NTUninstallKB908531$ in Windows, but still don't know
how to uninstall the security fix. Can somebody give me guidance?

Go to Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs, check the box for "Show updates,"
scroll to the KB908531 hotfix, and choose Remove.

Suzanne: Thank you for your very clear directions. Unfortunately, there is no
KB908531 hotfix on my list. As a matter of fact, there do not seem to be any
recent updates (after Feb. 06), which does not make a lot of sense. There are
Undated KB8... updates, but no undated ones that start with KB9.
Yet, I did find the $NTUninstallKB90853$ in windows. ???????

So back to square one. Who can tell me how to make a change in the "read
only" attribute which has been assigned to ALL my files?

Typed incorrectly the name I found in windows with uninstall--there is a "1"
at the end before the $

Dear tucson writer
You may need to remove another HP program. I know that removing 'HP Photo &
Imaging 2.0' solved the problem for me. This is software for my photosmart
735 camera. I can always reload this once a month from the disc and uninstall
afterwards to load my pictures onto the computer. Hopefully soon HP will
provide a remedy 'patch'.
