Removing Add-Ins form OL2003

N

news.microsoft.com

I originally posted this note about two hours ago and it hasn't shown up
yet. I apologize if it appears twice.

I moved an Outlook 2003 pst file from one system to another also running
OL2003.

When I open OL in the new system I get a 'Red X' message telling me that a
certain add-in pertaining to McAfee antivirus can't be loaded or installed.

OL help tells me to go into tools options and remove the add-in. The add-in
is not listed.

I tried a detect and repair, that didn't help.

I'm sure the reference to McAfee is there because the old system uses that
a/v program. The new systems uses Norton 2003 a/v.

How can I eliminate this annoyance?

Thanks in advance.

a.. Type extend.dat in the All or part of the file name box.
a.. In the Look In box, click your hard disk.
a.. Click Search.
a.. In the results pane, right-click the Extend.dat file, and then click
Rename.
a.. Type extend.old, and then press ENTER.
a.. On the File menu, click Close.
a.. Restart Outlook.
