Removing an empty contact list

Not sure how I did this but when I click on the "To" button when sending an
e-mail, I get a message that says: "The address could not be displayed. The
Contact folder with this address could not be opened...... etc.". If I click
on OK it opens a dialog box (Select Names) when I open the drop down list
there are three entries: Outlook Address Book, Contacts, Contacts. If I click
on the second Contacts entry listed, I get the Contacts list. Does anyone
know how to correctly associate this list with the buttons on an e-mail?

Hard to suggest a solution when you don't state your Outlook version.

Click Tools>E-mail Accounts>View or change existing directories or address
books>Next. Select Outlook Address Book and click Change. Delete the bogus
entry there. Stop and restart Outlook.

Delete either one. If you delete the wrong one, add it back and delete the
other. You're only deleting a corrupt link, not data.

Address Book" which has 2 identical entries: "Contacts: Personal
Folders". I then have the opportunity to delete one but have no idea
which one to delete or even if I should delete one.
