Removing and reinstalling office

J

Jeanne

I'm removing my office now, but I'm stumped. It asks me to select the
check boxes of the components I want to remove.

My choices are: Remove the Microsoft Office 2004 folder
Don't remove files I created
Remove the selected Office 2004 system files
Preferences

Should I keep them all checked? I sooooo don't want to lose any files.
Thanks,
Jeanne

I cannot help directly with the original question (though I doubt it
would affect your data files). However, with respect to this last
comment (and always good practice anyway): BACK UP! That way, should
the worst happen and your data goes bye-byes, you can retrieve it from
your backup.

Yes, leave them all checked, and you should be fine. After running the
Remove Office tool, make sure that the Microsoft Office 2004 folder in your
Applications folder got deleted; if it didn't, trash it. And of course, I'll
have to second PhilD's suggestion: always make backups of files you don't
want to lose, whether you uninstall programs or not.
