removing attachments from multiple messages in OE

In MS Outlook Express 6, running on Windows XP Pro, is there any way to
detach and save file attachments from multiple e-mail messages at once? I
have folders containing several hundred messages each, most containing file
attachments, which I would like to save on disc - without saving the email
message, and without going through the messages one at a time.

Is there a way to do this, either in OE itself or via a third party app?

Forgive me if this query is OT here, but I couldn't find a NG for OE and I
know that Outlook is very similar.
