Hi: I'm using Powerpoint 2003. How do I remove the design from one slide
only? Thank you Mary
Thanks for including your version of PPT -- it makes a difference for this
task. In PPT 2002 and 2003, you would apply a different design to that one
slide.
Hit View | Normal twice to make sure you're in normal view with the slide
thumbnail pane on the left. In that pane, select the one slide you want to
change.
Then choose Format | Slide Design to open the slide design task pane on the
right.
Right-click the design you want in the sllide design task pane and choose
"apply to selected slides." If you don't see the one you want, click
"browse" at the bottom of the task pane and navigate to it.
If you want to completely "remove" the design, you must actually apply a
blank design template. You may need to create your own blank.POT file so you
can apply it. Open a new, blank presentation, choose File | Save As, pick
"design template *.pot" from the "save as type" dropdown box, and then save
it to the folder PPT automatically takes you to. Use the instructions in the
previous paragraphs to apply it to the one slide -- you may have to browse
to it, as it may not show up in the slide design task pane until you've used
it a couple of times.
If you just want to remove the graphics from the slide background, you may
be able to use Format | Background and tick "omit background graphics from
master." What this does really depends how your background was set up,
though.
