Removing design from selected files

I do overhead presentations for church worship services. I want to use
different designs and backgrounds for different parts of the service within
the same presentation. I have saved certain songs etc that I can "insert from
file" into the current project only to find that all the slides change to
match one particular design, either one in the ppp in progress or to match
the inserted file. In PP 97 there is a white design that I can use which is
helpfull but the new church computer with PP 2003 all the white backgrounds I
can find have some form of graphics showing up. Is there a way to remove the
design from certain slides or have the design apply only to selected files?

Anne,
When you are inserting the slides from the other presentations you can check
the keep source formatting box in the lower left corner of the dialog.
In PPT 2003 you can also select a number of slides and in the Slide design
task pane click on the little arrow next to the thumbnail and hit apply to
selected slides.
If the graphics in the white designs bother you go to View Master - Slide
master - select and remove them there.
Hope this helps.

Anne you should have a default "blank white" design. To apply this (or any)
design to selected slides hover the mouse over the thumbnail in the design
pane and click the blue arrow which appears to the right.
