removing duplicate entries

I have a spreadsheet that has over 30000 entries of people with their
first and last names and over time as people have added names and not
done or done properly searches on peoples names , we now have
numberous duplicate entries.

Is there away to sort through the file and filter out the duplicate
names and be deleted or at least removed to another spreadsheet or to
the bottom of the file for eventual deletion?

Or is it easier to convert it to a datafile say dbase and do the
sorting deletion from within dbase?

Any ideas would be appreciated!

You could try using the Advanced Data Filter and filtering for unique
records only
