Removing duplicates from Entourage

J

John Sawyer

Jolly Roger has a script for removing duplicate emails from Entourage,
which he discusses at:

A feature that would be nice to add, would be for it to leave only one
read duplicate, instead of sometimes choosing an unread duplicate as
the last email standing among a group of duplicates, so the user
wouldn't have to mark any of the remaining messages they've already
read, as read. I'd email him directly about this, but his post
requests that people respond to the newsgroup instead; and I'd have
responded to that thread directly, but Google has imposed a 60-day
time limit on threads, after which they're archived and can't be
responded to. People can make all the excuses for such an
administrative decision, but it's still dumb.

There are several remove duplicate scripts:

I've used them all with no problems.

Google is just one interface to this newsgroup. Mactopia also has an
interface. You can use a newsreader and not have any restrictions placed on
messages.

If you can do an email, then you can use the Entourage newsreader.

Another benefit is messages are downloaded and searchable by Entourage's
Spotlight search. By clicking on the "more" button you can get older
messages to search for help. You can select to save the messages to folders
"On My Computer".
