Removing envelope icon in System Tray

I use Outlook 2000. I have rules set up to auto-deep-six junk mail. However, when a junk message comes in, Outlook will still display the envelope in the system tray, even though it cans the message. Therefore, I see the envelope, open my inbox, and...there's nothing there.

How do I keep the envelope from displaying in the tray? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
