Removing horizontal lines

If you start a line by typing at least three hyphens in a row and then hit
ENTER, a the Word will insert a horizontal line at this location . The
question is how to remove these lines at a later time. They are stubborn
and don't go away when you just select them and hit 'delete'. I am working
with MS Word 2002. Thnx.

I don't know why Word does this but the line is actually part of the border
of a table. You get rid of it from Borders and Shading but you have to have
it selected first.

I also find that if you Undo as soon as you have hit Enter and got the line,
it'll go back to your hyphens.
