Removing Index Codes from the document

Hi.

Is there a quick and easy way to remove the index codes
from a 750 page document to make it easier for printing
purposes.

Thanks
Lisa

First make sure the codes are visible -- click the ¶ button if
necessary.

Open the Edit > Replace dialog. In the Find What box, enter
^19 XE
(note that the ^ is the caret, or Shift-6, and there's a space between
the 9 and the X). Leave the Replace With box empty and click the
Replace All button. The codes will all be gone.

The ^19 code represents the left brace of the field code, and
selecting that causes the entire field to be selected for replacement.

Note that if you remove the XE fields, you will not be able to generate or
update an index. If you've unlinked the index, then this will be all right
(unless pagination changes). And I'm not sure I understand why you want to
remove the XE fields to make the document easier to print.
