removing item from work menu

D

drgooply

The help menu says to press z+option+ minus sign to remove an item from
the work menu. But option z inserts a symbol: O, and adding a minus
sign only adds a minus sign ;O.
What are the keystrokes to remove items from the work menu?
Thanks
(all the suggestions I've read online are about Windows versions. I'm
using Word X.

Hi,
check the help file again: it doesn't say "Z," but "Cmd," that's the
cloverleaf key/Apple key right next to your space bar.

Not so. On many people's machines, it does say "Z". (Perhaps because
some font is missing?) But it *means* "Cmd". m.

Yep: This machine has just started doing it here. I wonder if I have a
font gone bad? (This is a 10.3.9 machine, and Jaguar is not given to font
foibles, but who knows...)

Interesting; I've never heard of that one before. Then again, I checked the
link Daiya provided, and this discussion took place some months before I
started posting here. Anyway, thanks for pointing this out.

Thanks Daiya/Elliott:

Yep: That was it. Re-installed Wingdings from the Microsoft Office
2004/Office/Fonts folder, and bingo! The command symbol is back in the Help
:)

Cheers

Yeah, we had this discussion before and I think someone said that they
didn't have a font, then installed it, and the cloverleaf showed up.

Wingdings or Dingbats or something. Sadly I can't find the thread. Ah ha,
here it goes--Elliott confirmed it is Wingdings in post 5:
