removing leading zeros in a sort

I have a number system...01., 01.01...etc. I did this
only to sort...it is a text fields. How can I remove the
leading zeros in a report?

Stephanie,
I think... try the Val function.
Val(YourTextField)
drops the preceding 0's and yields...
1. , 1.01 , etc.
and will sort "numerically"
