Removing Microsoft Office 2004 and installing MSO officeStudent-Teacher prob

Deanna

My new computer ( running Leopard 10.5.1) has Office 2004 Test Drive,
which I am sure I have not used. When I go to Remove Office the remove
screen does not show any check boxes for me to select to remove the
test drive. Why aren't they showing up? Can I just trash the entire
Office folder to the trash? Or is there something I am not clicking on
to have the check boxes appear?

I have Microsoft Office 2004 Student and Teacher addition, to install.
To make sure the test drive is removed do I need to use the CD from
the Office 2004? If I use the CD, would I drag Office to my hard
drive? Please advise

Next Question: When I install MSO 2004 do I need to download all the
updates and install each one up to version 11.3.7 or something. I am
not sure at this time if I want to upgrade to 2008 as of yet.

Please advise

If you're certain you never used the Test Drive you can simply drag the
folder to the Trash, empty the Trash & restart your Mac. If you aren't 110%
certain that *none* of the programs in TD were ever run you can use the menu
in the Remove Office utility to be sure. Then install 2004 - that's one of
the big gripes - the 2004 installer didn't recognize or offer to remove the
Test Drive which led to lots of problems.

With 2004 you can use the installer or drag 'n' drop - your choice.

Yes - the version on the CD is only 11.0 - CDs don't get the benefit of
updating in the product pipeline. It's best to do the updates *before*
running any of the programs. AutoUpdate will probably offer to d/l & install
the updates automatically but if not you can get them from:

http://www.microsoft.com/mac/downloads.mspx

You'll need to start with the 11.3.5 update followed by the remainder in
sequential order - 11.3.9 is the latest.
