Removing Numbers Only from Single Column And Placing In Blank Column

I Need help. I have been given a spreadsheet with the names and
addresses of my local club members for upcoming election. It is broken
up into 5 columns ( A thru E ). Column "C" is a blank column which I
inserted for my next formula , but thats where my problem starts. Here
we go. Column "D" has addresses including numbers. I would like to
remove the numbers from Column D and place the numbers only in my blank
Column "C" ( for sorting purposes ). The rows start at D:3 and finish
at D:17202. Anyone one got any idea as to a formula that will achieve
this. Please make any reponses simple as this formula stuff has me
scratching my head badly
