Removing Office 2001-please help

L

lenny

I'm running Office 2001 on a G4 with system 9.2.1. I was using excel
trying to remove a hyperlink when my machine crashed. When I restarted
I lost a hard drive and Excel no longer works. When I open a worksheet
it gets as far as opening the sheet and when it makes the save sound it
crashes the machine. This happened three times after restarting and
running DiscWarrior and a few other repair discs. I started Word (a
test) and it gets to the logo and crashes the machine. Enough I say

My plan is to remove office and reinstall. However since I'm a neophite
and have read about bad things happening when removing Office 98 I need
help. How should I remove_uninstall Office?

I need to do something immediately. I'm on an organizing binge and
everything is in Excel. Any advice will be truly appreciated.

Thanks linda

Download and run the Remove Office application from MacTopia:

http://www.microsoft.com/mac/downloads.aspx

If you wish, save your Normal Template, Personal Macro Workbook, Custom
dictionaries, and any add-ins in your Microsoft Office 2001 folder
before removing so that you can restore them in your fresh setup.

Thank you so much. I've Downloaded the Remove Office App. Probably
should have figured this one out on my own.

Do I need to remove my workbooks and worksheets off my hard drive so
they won't be lost or just to another folder? Everything is backed up
on CD or another drive.

Thanks again for your help

If your files are stored outside your Microsoft Office 2001 folder they
will be safe.
