Removing Office 97 without the disk

I'm trying to upgrade from Office 97 to Office 2000 Pro
but I have to remove 97 first. But I lost the disks and
my computer won't let me remove the program without them.
Is there anyway I can bypass using a disk to remove the
Office 97 program?

Install Office 2000 and let the installer uninstall Office 97.
