Removing Old Version of Office

B

Brian Plen

I receive a "The feature you are trying to use is on a CD-
ROM or other removable disk that is not available" error
message when you apply an update for an Office 2000
installation

This Machine had Office 2000 Premium Edition installed.

The CD's have been lost (frequent happening!). I have a
copy of MS Office 2000 Professional to use instead.

I went to control panel, add remove programs, remove
Office 2000 Premium but it will not uninstall without the
application cd's.

I downloaded Office 2003 resource kit and used the Removal
Wizard which removed the programs, shortcuts and other
files. However it left the stub in the control panel, add
remove programs for Office 2000 Premium.

I installed Office 2000 Professional successfully but when
it needs the install disks it calls for Office 2000
Premium.

How can I remove the last traces of Office 2000 Premium?

Hi Brian,

I'm having the same problems with 2000 Pro. Did you find a final fix for
this?
