Removing One-Off from contact fields

Hello,

in order to resolve performance problems, I want to remove the form
description of 500 contact fields.
Microsoft's hint is to open a new clear contact without one-off and then
copy the data by hand from the old contact.

Did anybody automated this process? Export and Import by csv?
