Removing Outlook 2003

J

Jack Gillis

I installed Office 2003 about a week ago. I thought I would give
Outlook a try but found it no benefit to me and now would like to
uninstall it completely. Somewhere I read that once Outlook had been
designated as the default mail reader and later Outlook Express was
re-designated the default then uninstalling Outlook did not remove all
traces of itself from the system. It seems like I remember the registry
had to edited someway to wipe out all traces of Outlook. The trouble is
I don't remember where I read that and can't find it anywhere or maybe
I'm just imagining things.

Anyway, does anyone have any knowledge of quirks involved when trying to
completely uninstall Outlook?

Thank you.

You are imagining things.

Thank you, Milly.

You are probably right for I often hear things that go bump in the
night. But I did have one wrinkle.

I had a shortcut to OE on my desktop as well as the Start Menu. After
removing Outlook, both shortcuts did not open OE but the OE properties
window. And, OE was no longer the default mail reader. Those were
easily fixed but they did get my attention for a few minutes.

Thanks again.
