removing pst files

I'm trying to transfer the pst files from 1 laptop to a
new laptop. Using Exchange, I now have multiple copies
of each personal folder. I want to uninstall Outlook and
then reinstall and get a fresh start(because the initial
try was with Outlook XP, and it didn't work, and I know
how to do it with Outlook 2000). Unfortunaltely, when I
reinstall Outlook, it is still looking for the original
pst files and not letting me set the program up from
scratch. Please help. Do I need to do a system restore?
