removing "removed" tasks

Jeff Z

I created and posted a project into project server. I
then completely changed it around by changing resources,
task efforts and durations, then re-uploaded it to the
server. Now, the resources all see (including me) an X
next to the tasks that were deleted from the project
schedule, along with the new, updated tasks. How do I
globaly get rid of all the tasks with the X next to them.
Even Project Web access says "this task assignment has
been removed from the project", but yet it's stays
displayed. I know that each resource can hide their
tasks, but I'd rather take care of this globally. Anyone
have any ideas?

TIA,

Jeff

Thanks, but there is no option to delete "deleted tasks".
The tasks are no longer in my MS Project file, however,
they still show up in PWA. Those that have been removed
from the Project file have an X next to them, and when I
roll over them, PWA tells me they have been removed from
the project file. It's just that they still show in PWA.
Each user can "hide" the tasks, one-by-one, but I'd rather
do it for them if I can.

A MVP in a French newsgroup admitted that there is no way
to do that other than having individual resources "hide"
the deleted tasks one-by-one. He also mentionned a
potential improvement in version 2003 although he could
not verify that yet.

Let's just hope this serious shortcoming will be fixed in
v2003!
