Removing security

How do I stop Access prompting for a logon in a database which was
previously secured (ie, had someone as an administrator)?

I have tried to clear the password. That does indeed stop a password being
required but doesn't stop Access showing the logon box.

Has the database really been unsecured? Did you go through the steps in the
FAQ to unsecure it?

If so, then rejoin the standard system.mdw on your computer. If it really
has been unsecured, you'll get no login prompt and be able to open it.

Many thanks. I have not yet read the FAQ. I've been trying to follow a book
and also Jack MacDonald's article - neither of which are just the simplest
of things to understand! My brain is hurting with reading and re-reading but
I guess it will sink in eventually!

Don't give up Colin. It isn't easy to just pick up in an hour or so. It
took me several days of study/practice before it 'sunk in'.
