Removing Shading in Fill-In Merge field

Please help. When using a fill-in field code in a
document. Once the user fills in the prompt, how do you
get the shading to disable for the final document without
having to manually do it. Is there a switch you put into
the merge field itself?

Much appreciation.

Hi Doug,

Field shading is controlled via Tools|Options|View and choosing an option
under 'Field Shading'. You could use a macro to change this. However, the
setting has no effect on documents when printed or viewed via Print Preview.

If you really want the on-screen shading to disappear once something has
been filled in, try using a MACROBUTTON field, coded as:
{MACROBUTTON NoMacro Please type here.}
This field and its shading will disappear as soon as the user starts typing
into it.

Cheers

Hi Doug,

Is this a true FILLIN field, or a form field? The answer
"macropod" gave you is for regular fields; the place to
remove shading for form fields is the "a" button on the
Forms toolbar.
